Van Locks

Power tools are seen as a prize commodity on the black market, and easy money for criminals who sell them in car boot sales etc. As a result, tradesmen’s vans are constantly targeted by criminals the length and breadth of the country. Unfortunately, we haven’t escaped it ourselves. The best way to protect your van and your tools is to have either slam locks or deadlocks fitted to the side door and rear doors of your van. They also add a visual deterrent to your van. Both types of locks are keyed alike, so the side door lock and rear door locks, lock and unlock with the same key. The deadlocks we use are the best in the business, and are made to suit practically every make and model of van that is on the road.

SLAM LOCKS

Slam locks are most commonly fitted on courier / post vans. The idea of a slam lock is, the handle of the side and rear door is replaced with a cylinder. So when the side door or rear door is slammed closed. They can no longer be opened with the door handle. They are instead opened by the key inserted into the cylinder. This offers good protection against attempts to open the door and snatch something valuable. The side and rear door can only be opened with the key and not by someone who tries to open the door handle.

DEAD LOCKS

Deadlocks are completely separate to the central locking system in your van.  The deadlock is a cylinder operated lock that deadlocks your side door and rear door with the turn of the key. This means that even if the central locking system of the van is bypassed, the deadlock still keeps the doors locked, and your tool protected.

Repair Plates

Unfortunately, criminals are not exactly delicate when they break into vans. The majority of time, they will leave damage to the panel around the lock of the side or rear door. We can supply and fit repair plates to cover over the damaged panel. These plates are made of hardened steel and also provide protection against another attack.
