Code Locks in Kilkenny & Carlow
Mechanical digital code locks
Mechanical digital locks are known by many different names; including push button locks and code locks. A mechanical digital lock allows a door / locker / cupboard to be locked without the need for a key. The lock is unlocked by entering a code.
Mechanical digital locks are an excellent way of controlling access to staff areas in business and commercial premises. They offer quick access without the need for keys. Mechanical digital locks do not require electrical power to operate (although there are battery powered models available) No costly wiring needed. They offer a cost effective means of controlling access.

There is a huge variety of mechanical digital locks to suit almost every requirement and budget. Some variations include:
- Internal doors (including code locks rated for fire doors)
- External doors and garden gates
- Lockers / Cupboards
- Marine grade (where the lock will be located near river / sea locations)
Mechanical digital locks only allow the use of a single code. On the majority of model this code can’t have a recurring number in the code. Eg. The code can be “1234” but it can’t be “1123”. It doesn’t allow a second button press on the “1” button. Changing the code on mechanical digital locks (depending on the model) will require a call out.
Battery powered digital locks are the step between mechanical digital locks and smart locks. Battery powered locks have slightly more features than mechanical digital locks. They have the ability for multiple codes (that have no restriction on the code, like mechanical digital lock). Also to change the codes, generally doesn’t require a call out. The code function is generally very straight forward, and we can instruct the customer on how to do it.
